"American Idol"

It's been a few weeks since Kris Allen won "American Idol." Columns, blogs, TV chat shows have debated if the right person won. Even Kris Allen weighed in and on several interviews said he believes that Adam Lambert should have won.

Kris, you are a nice guy. But you are wrong. The right person won. The people voted for you. And they wouldn't have voted for you if they didn't love you.

I downloaded both Kris' and Adam' season singles from iTunes. I have to say while I really enjoyed watching Adam Lambert perform, I really like listening to Kris on my iPod. Kris Allen, you truly deserved to win American Idol.

"Survivor" Finale tonight

I'm rooting for Stephen and J.T. to be the final two.

I am worried though. After Thursday night's vote J.T. voted for Erinn and Stephen voted for Coach. Coach was sent home. Does this mean the alliance of J.T. and Stephen is frayed?

Also, the promo for tonight's show points to the trust issue and that it will come up for the final two. Is that a hint from CBS that the final two is J.T. and Stephen? The only other alliance from the very beginning was between Stephen and Taj.

The episode is called "I trust you but I trust me more." Apparently, it's going to get ugly during the final tribal council when the jury has to decide who to give the money to.

My prediction is if J.T. is in the final two he will win the million dollars. No one on the jury likes Erinn so she would be a good person to take to the finals. Everyone likes Taj so she would also be a person to get rid of.

We know Justin Timberlake can sing and dance. But every time he is the host of Saturday Night Live we are reminded of how incredibly funny he is.

He isn't afraid of poking fun of himself or even dressing up as an old lady at Target.

In one scene he dressed up as a breast implant and did parodies of songs from Lady GaGa and Kelly Clarkson.

He and pal Andy Samberg also did a funny and crude followup to last year's Emmy winning digital short "**** in a box." The short was a special tribute to Mother's Day with Susan Sarandon and Patricia Clarkson posing as the guys' mothers. It was sort of like a mom swap for Mother's Day. It was crude but really funny.

He and pal Jimmy Fallon brought back the Barry Gibb talk show. http://www.nbc.com/Saturday_Night_Live/video/clips/barry-gibb-talk-show/1099544/

He even played keyboards and sang backup for musical guest Ciara. http://tinyurl.com/p9vdg2

NBC and SNL exces would be wise to put Timberlake on their short list to host at least one episode of SNL next season.

About this blog

Herald-Journal Entertainment Editor Jose Franco loves TV and watching DVDs on TV. As a kid, he watched as much TV as he could on his parents' black-and-white set with the bunny-rabbit antenna. On clear days, the family could watch ABC, CBS, NBC and PBS. He loved watching everything from "Good Times" and "Happy Days" to "The Waltons" and "Three's Company," from "Land of the Lost" to Porky Pig cartoons. Saturdays were spent watching "American Bandstand," "Soul Train" and a Saturday afternoon movie like "Creature from the Black Lagoon." He didn't get cable and color TV until college in the 1980s and was surprised to hear all the colorful words you could say on television. It was the birth of MTV and music videos. Over the years, his taste in television shows has expanded and become more refined, but he does admit to enjoying an occasional "Who's the Boss?" marathon. His favorite shows, at the moment, include "The Sopranos," "Weeds," "Nip/Tuck," "Big Brother," "Friday Night Lights," "Prison Break," "Lost," "Ugly Betty" and "Heroes." His Netflix list is filled with TV shows he's yet to watch such as "The Wire" and "House." Not enough hours in the day, he says. He loves TV so much that he even mourned when "Rome" and "Gilmore Girls" went off the air. And he thinks there's nothing better than sharing his thoughts on a favorite TV show around the watercooler at work.
